“Not Krachok” Art Exhibition: Unveiling Resilience And Artistic Brilliance

True Digital Park (TDPK) and Madskills Gallery present the "Not Krachok" exhibition, showcasing the inspiring work of Thai artist Pongsakorn Tantinikulchai, widely known as Krachok. Running from 21 June to  4 July 2024, this exhibition explores overcoming life's challenges and discovering inner strength.

Krachok, a 1999-born graduate of Silpakorn University's Faculty of Decorative Arts, with a major in Applied Thai Arts, shares that his artwork mirrors life's events and obstacles. "Each piece of art in this exhibition reflects the events and challenges we encounter—sometimes scary, sometimes seemingly insignificant, with joy and sorrow intermingled. But it is through these different challenges that we discover the power and abilities hidden within us. Believing in our worth allows us to overcome any obstacle. This exhibition aims to inspire and remind viewers that we all have strength and can overcome life’s obstacles," says Pongsakorn.

In an exclusive interview for Elite+, we caught up with Krachok at the exhibition to gain deeper insights into his artistic journey and inspirations. He elaborated on the personal experiences that inspired his creations, stating, "I believe that effort is crucial in everything we do. Since graduating, I've focused on what I love, despite the numerous challenges I faced initially. Persistence and continuous improvement have been key to my journey."

The exhibition's concept is rooted in the ‘Hero's Journey’, a narrative structure commonly found in literature and film. Madskills' managing director, Pichaya Viwatrujirapong, explained, “This exhibition originated from the concept of interpreting the name ‘Not Krachok’ (Not Ordinary), which comes from the idea of the Hero’s Journey. It emphasises the main character's adventures, where various challenges and problems need to be solved in order to grow and reach one’s goal.”

Reflecting on his artistic journey, Krachok noted, "Everything I do requires constant effort towards my goals. The belief in one's self-worth is fundamental. Without recognising our value, how can we expect others to see it? If I didn't believe in my capabilities, I wouldn't be able to create art that resonates deeply with others."

True Digital Park's general manager, Dr Tarit Nimmanwudipong, highlighted the importance of fostering creativity among new talents. "True Digital Park is committed to fostering creativity among new talents, particularly Thai artists, through continuous collaboration with startups like Madskills."

Krachok also emphasised the significant role this exhibition provides in bringing his work to a broader audience. "I must thank True Digital Park and Madskills Gallery for giving young artists like me a platform to showcase our work. This solo exhibition is increasing my work's visibility and allowing me to communicate my ideas more effectively," he remarked.

He also expressed how his education at Silpakorn University has influenced his creative process, "Art education didn't just teach me to draw better; it taught me how to live happily. We don't have to limit ourselves to art alone; we have the freedom to do anything we love. I encourage all aspiring artists to stay dedicated to what they love. Commitment and passion will always reciprocate the love we give to our work."

"Not Krachok" exhibition is open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at TDPK Studio 2, True Digital Park West (BTS Punnawithi). Admission is free, offering a unique opportunity for the public to engage with inspiring art that celebrates resilience and personal growth.
